The journey to the cold room.

The Journey- out of my general ward room 701........



..................down the dark corridor...........(feels like the movies!).............


.............across to the old wing.................

.........................passing the green garden landscape...................

.....................................rolling through the childrens ward...................

..................................into the elevator............................(near naked all the way)!!

The COLD COLD ROOM!

And this is where the 'cleansed' says goodbye to the 'uncleansed'.A parting wave,a parting smile of the brave...............left all alone to be with the cold cold room.My many request for 'the warmth blanket'(cotton blankets kept warm in the oven,seriuosly)was fulfilled.And one warm blanket wasnt enough ,i asked for two warm blankets and still felt cold!I was left in the cold cold room for about 30min,undrugged.I was hoping to get some sleeping pills but there was none.

My image of the waiting room was a sterile room,maybe covered in plastic sheets,completely hygienic looking.Maybe a dome like room with shiny surfaces.However,what i saw was nurses chatting,lunch being eaten,visitors in street clothes,mobile phones,coughing people,sniffling nurses.I went into the nurses locker room because i thought i had better empty my bowels before surgery and the only toilets were inside this extremely tiny nurses locker room cramp up with 10 nurses changing clothes to go home.Did not even smell of disinfectent.It could have been any other room in the hospital.Oh well,pop goes my sterile room bubble.
